Damayanthi Wedage - Senior Fashion Educationalist, Lecturer
As a fashion technologist Damayanthi has spent 25 years working with various government institutions, and companies with her specialization in fashion. She started her lecturing career in 1992 at the National institute of education and produced many leading fashion designers to date. She has developed technology transfer programs with Japan International Cooperation Agency and worked for Industrial Development Board for business creation programs. She has been a consultant to develop skill standards and trainer manuals for vocational training authority of Sri Lanka and a member of National industrial training advisory committee. She is also an advisor for National Apprenticeship board. She’s been a speaker in many local and international conference and shared her knowledge on fashion and design. She was also invited to do a fashion project in Maldives on Economic Empowerment of women.
